I run my lessons to be goal-orientated using the SMART goal system. In the first lesson we will establish what you want to achieve musically (Sing in front of an audience, write your own song, play with a band. etc). we will work towards your goal while working on technique. I can help beyond scales, so that you are getting the absolute most out of every lesson.
Lessons will also include applicable music theory, Breathing, support, unlocking resonance, removing jaw tension and correct posture.
I want you to feel connected to your singing and look forward to their lessons!
I accompany students on piano and am happy for you to bring guitars or any other instrument you may use to accompany yourself.
TEACHING VALUES
Judgement Free Zone
Singing is an incredibly vulnerable practice and I understand there can be a lot of anxiety around expressing yourself through your voice. I strive to create a space that is supportive and encouraging, free from Judgement and shame.
Inclusive Practice
I offer a safe space for anyone to explore their voice, no matter what their background or identity is. My space is LGBTIQA+ friendly and is open to everyone.
Individualized learning
I tailor each lesson to the student and their individual goals, areas of interest and areas of improvement. No cookie-cutter lessons!
Receiving Feedback
I embrace and love all feedback from students about their lessons, I want you to be a partner in your learning and feel free to express your suggestions and feedback.
COVID-19 Update
Hi Everyone,
With Face-to-face lessons looking to resume from the 19th of October I thought I would give you an update with the precautions I have implemented to ensue the safe return to lessons.
They includes;
- My studio measures 3m x 3m which allows us to adhere to the 1.5 metre social distancing
- Scheduling 15 minutes in between each student to allow the room to air out.
- Sanitising all surfaces between students
- Keeping the window open to allow for continual airflow
You are welcome to wear a mask during your lessons and I am more than happy to wear a mask if it makes you feel more comfortable.
I will be keeping up to date with the most recent studies, regulations and laws to ensure your safety.
For those of you that wish to continue with online lesson that is more than fine and we can continue as usual.
I take your safety very seriously and if there is anything else I can do to make you feel more comfortable in returning to on-site lessons please do not hesitate to contact me.
Looking forward to seeing you all either in person or online soon.
